WORKSHOPS ARE BUY TWO GET ONE FREE WORKSHOP ONE: FREEDOM WITHIN LIMITS: TEACHING INDEPENDENCE Sat March 30th 10—11:30AM $150 One of Montessori's goals is to foster every child's independence. In this workshop, you learn the psychology behind freedom within limits, discuss creating an enviornment that supports your child's freedom to act independently, and take home strategies to implement throughout your child's development. WORKSHOP TWO: DISCIPLINING WITH RESPECT Sat March 30th 12—1:30PM $150 Discipline is a challenge for every parent and teacher. Montessori Method provides you with strategies for implementing discipline in a respectful and effective manner. Ann Velasco shares the basic tenets of Montessori theory which can guide your interactions with your child. Walk away prepared to implement these ideas into your home with calm and confidence. WORKSHOP THREE: UNDERSTANDING AND SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENTAL BENCHMARKS Sat March 30th 2—3:30PM $150 How do you know if your child is performing ahead of the curve? Concerned about under-performance and how to help? Want to support your child’s developmental journey but unsure what to look for or what to do? Ann Velasco shares the developmental patterns and tendencies first identified by Dr. Maria Montessori. By examining their significance, you will better identify, understand, and support your child's developmental benchmarks. MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORAnn Velasco is an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Primary Trainer and has been the Director of Training for the Southwest Institute of Montessori Studies, since 2014. She conducts Primary level teacher-training courses to prepare those who wish to work with children ages 2 ½ – 6, during both the academic year and in a summer course format. Ann has also served as a teacher trainer in Costa Rica 2015-2017 and will be a teacher trainer at sims’ New Mexico outpost, Montessori ONE Academy, in 2019.
