The site is right along Wooster Street and should be easy for folks to spot. We believe the lot will be under Mosser’s control so parking should not be an issue. Folks will need the usual safety items: hard hat, safety glasses, hi-vis vest, and closed-toe shoes.
BGSU ROBERT W. AND PATRICIA A. MAURER CENTER NEW COLLEGE OF BUSINESS PROJECT
The renovation of Bowling Green State University’s Hanna Hall into the new 90,000 sf Robert W. and Patricia A. Maurer Center New College of Business Project began with Mosser Construction mobilizing on site in July of 2018. With the overall project totaling approximately $40 million dollars, the construction budget for this major 22-month renovation is approximately $31 million. Mosser Construction is the Construction Manager at Risk on the project.
The renovation of Hanna Hall entails a complete renovation to the interior of the building, while the exterior renovation includes cleaning and tuck-pointing of the existing masonry. New custom replacement windows were installed by Mosser on Hanna Hall and are the same type of window as on the adjacent University and Moseley Halls. The grand staircase on the west side of Hanna Hall will be upgraded to meet current building code standards and the original marble will be restored.
The New College of Business will house numerous state-of-the-art classrooms along with a Visualization Lab, 75 faculty and staff offices, and a three-story atrium with light monitors as well as a skylight to allow natural light into the space.
The Maurer Center side of building, which is the new addition, will consist of aluminum curtainwalls, brick and stone, and will feature a small Starbucks Café and an exterior rooftop terrace for the students to relax during the warmer months.
The project also includes parking lot improvements (east of the Maurer addition) and new handicap ramps into the building at the north side of the building. A courtyard will also be created north of the building.
The project is scheduled for completion in May of 2020.
