Hello CFMA Albuquerque, please join us after work Wednesday February 19th for a presentation by Cristin Heyns-Bousliman on why employers don't need to freak out about marijuana. There has been a lot of talk and concern about how recreational use cannabis will very likely be passed in the near future here in New Mexico and that leaves a lot of employers concerned with how this will change their work sites. In construction, with safety being the first and primary priority every day, the possibility of an employee under the influence of any drug worrisome. Cristin will cover which laws apply, updates to the Compassionate Use Act, and various protections built into these laws and how they apply to employers. By the end of this presentation you should be able to say "dude, chill" the next time this comes up. This presentation is appropriate for anyone in a supervisory or managerial role. One CPE credit hour will be provided in the field of Business Law.The Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.nasbaregistry.org
