Most people take prudent care to have a will and a trust drawn up long before it would be needed. Why do we not take the same mindful approach when it comes to passing on our most cherished values and the wisdom we have harvested in our lives? Jewish tradition provides for handing down our values and views through the writing of an ethical will by individuals. In this class, we will study Jewish ethical wills from the Bible, the Middle Ages and modern times. Then we will spend several sessions creating our personal ethical wills. Rabbi Citrin will guide you in your writing effort. No previous experience is necessary. If you are looking for a path of reflection and writing, this is the course for you.
