Colin Baker is an economist serving as the Manager of Economic Research at the Greater Houston Partnership. There, he tracks Houston’s economic trends, analyzes the forces behind them, and translates that data into insights for business leaders, community partners, and the wider public. Colin brings more than a decade of research experience to his work. Before joining the Partnership, he worked at NERA Economic Consulting, providing expert analysis for major antitrust cases involving big tech companies. He previously worked as an economic and political analyst for the Japanese government at its Consulate in Houston, and as a statistical researcher for the Texas A&M Public Policy Research Institute. Colin holds both a master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Texas, where he also studied Japanese. A native Houstonian, he is a lover of Texas barbecue and a diehard Astros fan.
