What World Cup Means to Houston This summer, Houston will host seven matches of the largest and most prestigious sporting event in the world. The FIFA World Cup 2026 is expected to draw over 500,000 visitors to our region with an expected $1.5B economic impact. Join us to understand what goes into bringing the event to Houston, how the work gets done and what to expect during the tournament.

Kim Scates
Kim Scates serves on the leadership team for the FIFA World Cup 26 Houston Host Committee as vice president, commercial partnerships. Her work securing sponsorship revenue and collaborating with corporate partners helps to ensure a successful event for Houston. Kim has deep experience in sports and partnerships through her work at the Harris County - Houston Sports Authority and her career in television advertising. She is a Houston native and a TCU graduate.
