Little Green Acres

About

A Week of Outdoor Preparedness and Adventure Gear up for outdoor adventures with confidence! During The Great Outdoors Week, campers will master essential safety and preparedness skills while having fun exploring the wetlands and wilder parts of the farm. Campers will start by learning the basics of outdoor preparedness—choosing the right footwear and clothing, including layering, for different terrains and weather. They’ll also learn what to take, ensuring they have essentials like water, snacks, a first aid kit, a compass, and a whistle. Throughout the week, campers will develop critical safety and survival skills, including what to do if they get lost, how to signal for help, and how to identify animal tracks and scat. They’ll also dive into outdoor first aid, practicing wound care, creating splints and stretchers from natural materials, treating burns, recognizing dehydration, and managing bug bites and stings. Each day will feature mini hikes around the farm, giving campers the opportunity to apply their new skills in real-time. This week-long camp is perfect for adventurous kids ready to build their confidence, hone essential outdoor skills, and connect with nature in a fun, supportive environment.
