Make your Sunday a little more creative! 🎃 Join us Sunday, October 11th from 1–3 PM at MECO Coffee in Frederick for a fun, completely beginner-friendly calligraphy and Halloween door hanger experience. We’ll spend the first 45 minutes learning the basics of calligraphy, getting comfortable with the tools, strokes, and letters you’ll use throughout the afternoon. Then we’ll move on to the fun part: creating your own pre-painted Halloween door hanger! And don’t worry, there’s no blank-space fear here. I’ll provide plenty of templates and show you exactly how to use them and transfer your chosen design onto your door hanger, so you can create beautiful lettering without having to freehand the whole thing. For the free-spirited souls who would rather wing it, you’re absolutely welcome to skip the templates and hand-letter your design yourself! All supplies for your door hanger are included, along with a take-home calligraphy kit. You’ll leave with a finished piece you’ll be proud to hang on your door all season long. And because it’s Sunday, MECO Coffee gives you the option to make a whole day of it! They offer an all-you-can-eat brunch for $20 and bottomless mimosas (additional charge). Brunch and mimosas are **not included** in your Lettered & Local ticket, but you’re welcome to come early and enjoy them before class.
