During Farm Animals, Fire & Outdoor Cooking week, campers explore how heat transforms food and materials while building real outdoor cooking skills. Campers learn about different heat sources, including open flame and solar heat, and how fuel choices affect cooking outcomes. Fire safety and responsibility are emphasized throughout the week. Food is central to daily activities as campers cook and prepare simple meals using a variety of outdoor methods. Campers explore how heat, fuel, and technique affect flavor and texture. Hands-on projects include making charcoal for cooking and creating clay trivets or pot rests designed for safe outdoor use. Days are active, physical, and confidence-building. This week is ideal for kids who enjoy hands-on challenges, love cooking and building, and are excited to develop practical outdoor skills.
